Which camp to you reside in?

“It will be alright in the end and if it is not alright, it is not the end.” from the movie The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

OR

“Everything ends badly, otherwise it wouldn’t end.” from the movie Cocktail

I’m 95% Pollyanna and I’m “glad” (see what I did there) to see the bright side of things. It just makes me feel good. I’ve was a negative Nelly in my early 20’s and I decided that’s not how I want to live my life so like my friend Karen says, “I choose to be happy.” It is a choice and I’m all the better for it.

I can see both sides of the above quotes and know they can both be true.
‘Cocktail’ came out in 1988 and besides the trick moves with the liquor bottles the only other thing I can remember about the film is this quote. It has suck with me. I think I carried it around like a badge of honor. I wasn’t happy then and it would take me awhile to change to the person I wanted to be. So things finally ended badly or did they? At the time, YES indeed, things ended badly and I’m grateful they did.

The question I ask myself now is, was that the beginning of something new, the middle of who I’m becoming, or the end of that story? YES YES and YES.

In the end, for me I reside in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. What about you?
